Poem A

After They Are Gone
~ Joanna Fuchs

When someone we love passes away,
We ache, but we go on;
Our dear departed would want us to heal,
After they are gone.

Grief is a normal way to mend
The anguish and pain in our hearts;
We need time to remember and time to mourn,
Before the recovery starts.

Let's draw together to recuperate,
As we go throught this period of sorrow;
Let's help each other, with tender care
To find a brighter tomorrow.

Poem B

A Better Place
~ Joanna Fuchs

She’s in a better place right now
Than she’s ever been before;
All pain is gone; she’s now at rest;
Nothing troubles her anymore.

It’s we who feel the burden of
Our sadness and our grief;.
We have to cry, to mourn our loss,
Before we get relief.

We know we’ll reconnect with her
At the end of each life’s road;
We’ll see her cherished face again
When we release our earthly load.

Poem C

In Loving Memory
~ Susan Flowers

Within the darkness of the day and the quietness of the night,
I hope that you will seek and find the peace of truth and light.
For although the time at hand is hard and a sadness grips your heart,
There’ll come a day where the one you’ve lost will no longer be apart.

For now just know they’ve found peace and are sitting at Jesus’ side,
For although we mourn the life they have lost, their spirit never died.
May their memory be a comfort as you learn to live without them near,
And have faith that you will meet again and that their spirit is still here.

As for today, if you feel a loneliness that becomes to much to bear,
You simply need to call on me and with out hesitation I’ll be there.
Those who love you are longing to hold your hands and dry your tears,
To hug you and to comfort you and to help to ease your fears.

I pray that the love of family and friends will always bring you comfort,
And day by day you find more strength and that time will mend the hurt.
Although this time is tearful and your heart can only grieve,
Your tomorrows will get easier in this I pray and believe.

Poem D

~ Author Unknown

Someone new has entered
our eternal home above.
The heavenly gate has opened wide
to welcome the one you love.

We cannot help the tears that fall-
our hearts need time to grieve
when earthly life has ended
and a loved one has to leave.

Yet even in the saddest time,
we know our Savior lives,
and we can trust completely
in the promise that he gives.

That in a glad reunion with the Lord,
our loved ones wait to welcome us in joy
with no more tears beyond the gate!

Poem E

~ Leona I. Miller

There are so many things on earth...
we simply cannot explain,
Why one of us is taken...
while the rest of us remain;
But, 'til the day we see the Lord,
and He makes all things clear,
We will find Comfort in knowing...
that He is always near.
